The meeting will be held next week, and Citi's board and executive management team will meet with clients, staff and regulators during their visit to the Asian financial hub, the bank said in a statement. "The selection of Singapore for this year's board meeting signals Citi's intent to invest and grow our business here for years to come," said Tibor Pandi, Singapore Citi country officer. Singapore has been one of Citi's largest markets globally and is home to one of the bank's four wealth hubs, with staff amounting to some 8,500 in the city-state.

"The Board, with the support of the Executive Management Team, has unanimously concluded that the best path forward is... accelerated evolution of its current strategic plan with an increased focus on efficiency and simplification," Laurentian said. However, later that month, a media report citing sources said Montreal-based Laurentian was struggling to find an acquirer and that Canada's top banks - Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS.TO) and Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD.TO) - had backed out of a potential acquisition. Laurentian said it considered a variety of options through the review process, including an acquisition of the whole bank and divesting certain businesses.

Delaware Basin, a part of the wider Permian Basin, is a prime target for producers looking to increase their inventory. Earlier this month, it also closed a $1.5 billion deal to buy Novo Oil & Gas Holdings. With Monday's deal, Permian Resources would have pro forma production of about 300,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd). Shares of Earthstone jumped 8.6% to $17.63 in premarket trading, while Permian Resources declined more than 3% to $12.45. After the deal closes, existing Permian Resources and Earthstone shareholders would own about 73% and 27% of the combined company, respectively.

But while Rose's departure means Europe's 25 biggest banks by assets are still 96% male-run, an analysis by Reuters has found that broader executive management teams have become slightly more balanced since last year. Top management teams at Europe's largest lenders are now 30.6% female, data compiled by Reuters shows, up from 25.6% for the same group of banks in early 2022. Reuters GraphicsAcross the broader financial services sector, however, a recent study by EY found that hiring of women at board of directors level in Europe had actually dipped. Companies appointed women to 44% of board openings in the 12 months through June 2023, down from 52% during the previous year. The overall gender split has nevertheless improved to 43% female and 57% male on the boards of European financial firms, EY found, from a 37%/63% split a year ago.

Andy Sieg, a veteran of Merrill Lynch, is parting ways with Bank of America to join Citigroup . He will be the new head of Citi Global Wealth, reporting to Jane Fraser, the bank's CEO. Previously, Sieg was president of Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, a post he's held for six years. He was also a member of Bank of America's executive management team. Separately, Bank of America announced that Lindsay Hans and Eric Schimpf have been appointed presidents and co-heads of Merrill Wealth Management.
Costcutter owner Bestway buys Sainsbury's stake

Sainsbury's shares were up 4.5% on Friday, hitting their highest since April and leading gainers on the FTSE 100 (.FTSE) index. The 3.45% stake makes Bestway Sainsbury's sixth largest investor, Refinitiv Eikon data showed. Asda was purchased by brothers Mohsin and Zuber Issa and private equity company TDR Capital for an enterprise value of 6.8 billion pounds, while Morrisons was bought by U.S. private equity firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice for 7 billion pounds. Sainsbury's proposed 7.3 billion pounds takeover of Asda was blocked by Britain's competition regulator in 2019. Shares in Sainsbury's closed on Thursday at 239.4 pence, valuing the business at 5.6 billion pounds.
